SEO Link Building and Content Marketing Examples

The questions that every business owner asks are, “how do I get more followers on insert platform name here?” or “how do I rank first on Google’s search page?” Little do they know that this process is not an overnight success – it takes time, SEO, and like with any good marketing campaign, it takes a vast variety of planning.

Keypoints of good SEO

Before the internet, marketing was easy. You could place an ad in the daily paper; record a radio spot or purchase a :15-second commercial on television. Today, the one of the fastest ways to increase sales while advertising your business is to dabble into the wonderful world of Search Engine Optimization also known as SEO.

Usually, when SEO is explained to people not familiar with SEO, their eyes tend to glaze over and their brain shuts off so the easiest way to explain this necessary advertising method is through examples.

Social media

Social media is one of the easiest ways to increase your Google rankings as well as increase your SEO points. Google uses Twitter to discover new content. Retweets, how many people are talking about the topic, and the timeframe of your tweet all plays into factor on how Twitter helps your organic search. This process is not just with Twitter – having a Google+ is another huge factor. Google loves all things Google so it is only natural that Google will place your company above another if your Google+ is more engaging and active. This process applies to other social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Video

Video marketing now creates immediate SEO results because video makes people click, which is the whole goal. Clips with engaging content is the new trend amongst social media users. Youtube is the second most popular search engine in the world; however, Facebook video is quickly rising due to the “Live Video” function, which is expected to surpass YouTube in views by mid 2017.

Infographics

Infographics might seem old, but these are still highly used, especially to prove a point. In the 2016 Presidential Election, infographics served as a huge visual medium amongst voters who wanted pros and cons of each candidate. Infographics are smaller and easier to digest information, rather than reading a long blog post or watching a video. It is also for those with a short attention span.

Blog Blog Blog, the SEO lifesaver!

Blogging is the best way to gain traction through SEO because of all the backlinking that is available. From keywords to images, blogs can serve a variety of purposes for your SEO and brand awareness. The best thing about blogs is that you can write an article and syndicate it across all your mediums: social media, video, turn it into an infographic, etc.

Too often, people get caught up in the technical terms of “SEO” because of all the jargon and importance emphasis that industry experts expressed; however, the base reality is that SEO is just spreading your message across any and all channels that make sense for your brand. Keep in mind that when developing your SEO strategy, knowing your demographic is the true test. If your demographic does not use social media, read blogs, etc. then it is all pointless; however, if your demographic fits perfectly with the strategy, then you have gold ready to be mined.
